i haven't posted in a long time but i came across frederic raphael's 'a spoilt boy - a memoir of childhood' which is predominantly about his experience of antisemitism at charterhouse

What makes no sense will be venerated as part of a sublime scheme which heretics must be too perverse or too self-centered to understand."
i'd picked it up at the mobile library because i remembered enjoying his television series 'the glittering prizes' with tom conti and i think i read the book
